Helen Elaine Mayer Sherrill, 89, died Saturday at Candler Hospital. The Rockwood, TN native was a longtime resident of Savannah. She was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church and a former member of Southside Baptist Church. She was active in Women of the Moose. Surviving are a son, John G. Sherrill of Kennesaw, GA; a daughter, Dorothy H. Willis of Savannah; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
