Dorothy Riley Whitfield, 88, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. She was born in Ashland, Alabama, on November 19, 1925 to Eustace D. Riley, Sr. and Oma Smith Riley. She graduated from Auburn University where she met her late husband Thomas H. Whitfield, Jr. They were married for 53 years. Mrs. Whitfield was a long time member of First Baptist Church of the Islands where she was also a member of the Friendship Class.
