Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a son of the late William J. Horner and the late Matilda Hettel Horner. Mr. Horner was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Horner was a United States Army veteran.
