Born November 18, 1920 at Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dr. Chown practiced family medicine in the Wyandotte/Grosse Ile area of Michigan for over 45 years. With a degree from the University of Michigan, she served with distinction as a U.S. Naval Officer during WWII, and subsequently was one of the first women to attend Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania now Drexel University at Philadelphia.
