“Dixie” (Gertrude) Fay Viers passed away peacefully at her home in Savannah, Georgia, on the morning of Sunday, February 10, 2019. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dixie married her high school sweetheart, the late Lt. Col. Willard G. (“Gus”) Viers upon his graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1953 and commissioning as a Lieutenant in the U. S. Marine Corps.
