She was born in Glennville, Georgia on April 2, 1913, the daughter of Robert and Martha Ann Bowen. She was the youngest of seven children. Mrs. McCullough was married for 64 years to the late Wilbur Reese McCullough, Sr. and lived in Savannah, Georgia. They had two sons and one daughter.
