He was born in Savannah, GA on July 25, 1925 and was the only child of Doris Dieter Skipper and Henry Turner Skipper. Surviving Henry is his wife of sixty-one years, Dorothy Yager Skipper. Having grown up in Savannah, Henry often recalled his youthful days of making pluffers to shoot china berries, having rubber gun fights, playing shinny on roller skates and half rubber games.
