Lyndon Thomas Walker, 86, died May 14, 2008 at Hospice House after a short but dignified battle with pancreatic cancer. Lyndon has been a Savannah resident since the age of four and attended Commercial High School. He joined the Navy in 1942 and was stationed in the South Pacific at Guadal Canal where he serviced aircraft from the carriers as they pushed up the Solomon Isles in World War II. After his stent in the Navy, Lyndon joined the Air National Guard as a Flight Engineer. He retired in 1971 after logging slightly more than 9000 flight hours.
