William L. Bell, 83, died August 9, 2007 at Hospice Savannah after a lengthy illness. Mr. Bell was well known in the educational community of Savannah and surrounding areas, having retired as president of Hancock Day School in 2004. He had assisted his mother, Mrs. Emmie Ruth Bell Hancock, in the operation of Hancock Day School since 1960, as well as Hancock Academy from 1972 to 1979.
