She was born in Savannah and was a Cradle Roll member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Bettie married Herb Davis in 1950 and as a military wife she lived in Georgia, Portugal, Texas, and Indiana before moving back to Savannah in 1968. Surviving are her son, Herbert G.
