Evelyn Jane Byrd died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 in Richmond Hill. She was 93. Lovingly referred to as "Granny", Mrs. Byrd was born October 29, 1916 and was a resident of Savannah for over 60 years. She was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her husband, Harvet Byrd and her daughter, Jane Madden. Mrs. Byrd is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Singleton of Savannah; her son, Ronald Byrd of Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
