He was born in Bryan County, Georgia son of the late Henry Grady and Dycie Shuman. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Alma Shuman and 8 siblings. Born on March 29, 1920, in Bulloch County, he moved to Savannah in 1939, and in 1943, Malcolm married Edwina Hodges. They were married for 74 years; she preceded him in death on October 15, 2017.
