Marie Dian Rekart

Marie Dian Rekart

Marie Dian Keller Rekart, 88, passed away Friday, September 23rd, at Thrive on Skidaway Island.  She was born March 11, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Louis Keller and Marie Moulton Keller.  She attended Washington University in St. Louis, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.  She worked as a Realtor for Long & Foster in Burke, Virginia for several years.  After retirement, Dian moved to Skidaway Island in 1996 with her husband John. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf and accumulated more than 11,000 miles riding the numerous bike trails. She was an active volunteer for the Martin de Porres Society Charity on Skidaway, knitting hats and blankets for premature infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at local Savannah hospitals.  Her children and grandchildren will remember Dian as an accomplished baker, making dozens of cookies for family gatherings and beach trips.  She was a faithful communicant of St. James Catholic Church. Dian is survived by her husband of 67 years, John L. Rekart; three daughters, Michele Grossi (Mark), Nicole’ Donoghue (Sean), and Kirsten Vignec (Bob); eight grandchildren, Ryan (Andrea), Evan (Ellen), Sean (Ana), Caitlin (Doug), Maggie (Mark), Tim (Bridget), Olivia, and Sophia, as well as eight great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Louis, MO.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimers Association at alz.org.
