WALLACE H. SMITH

Wallace H. Smith 81, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Mullins, South Carolina and a resident of Ashville, North Carolina before moving to Savannah 20 years ago. He was retired from Burlington Industries and a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Smith was an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, M.M. and Myrtle Smith and his brother Buck Smith.

Surviving is his loving wife, Lou Barnes of Savannah, daughters, Elizabeth Norton Robert of Bradenton, FL, Beverly Gibbs Jeff of Mills River, NC, son, Craig Barnes Betsy of Arden, NC, sisters, Marlene Baxley of Marion, SC, Joanne Baker Herbert of Mullins, SC, brother, Eugene Smith Margie of Columbia, SC, grandchildren, Ryan and Brianna Norton, Jared Gibbs, Haley Barnes and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, April 20, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Islands Chapel.

Graveside Services will be Saturday, April, 21, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
