Netannis “Tan” Henderson Kline
Savannah-Netannis Henderson Kline, 86, died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Candler Hospital.
Born March 19, 1920, she was the first child born in Burns Lake, British Columbia, Canada. During World War II, she served as a nurse at St. Georges Hospital in Hyde Park during the bombing of London where she received the British Empire Defense medal and the Canadian Defense medal. She met and married her husband Norman in Great Britain and together they have traveled the world extensively including trips to the North and South Poles. Tan was an accomplished artist who enjoyed painting and has had several children’s books and short stories published. For the past 36 years, she lived in Summerland Key where she enjoyed gardening, cats and was proud to say that she swam in the Atlantic every day. Most ordinary folks would find it hard to measure up to Tan’s exacting specifications. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Kline.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Norman Kline of Savannah and a brother, Phillip Henderson Joann of Scotland.
A memorial service will be held a later date.
