Alice B. Smith, 87, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
Mrs. Smith was born on May 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Floyd and Nettie Proctor. During WWII Alice was employed by Savage Arms in Syracuse, NY as Arms Inspector, later working for Easy Washer and General Electric in Syracuse in the 1950's. In 1987 she moved to Savannah to be with her daughter and family and was a resident at Azalealand Nursing Home, Savannah for the last year. Alice was an active member of the Women's Circle of Trinity United Methodist Church Euclid Methodist where she taught Sunday School for eighteen years. She was also a member of the Clay Volunteer Fire Department Auxillary.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of thirty years, Lyle A. Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Linda J. Graham; son-in-law, Robert Graham; granddaughter, Katherine Kacey Graham; brother, Floyd Proctor-Liverpool and wife Linda; sister, Reena Krell and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Funeral Service: Monday, November 24, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Pine Plains Cemetery in Clay, NY.
