Manuel J. "Joe" Felix, 89, of Savannah, Georgia passed away peacefully under the care of Hospice Savannah, Inc. on November 26, 2008.

Mr. Felix was a native of Portersville, Arizona and moved to Savannah in 1961. He served in the U.S. Navy and later worked as a Superintendent for twenty eight years with Larco-Industrial Paintng Corporation of Riverside, CA. Prior to his recent illness, he was employed for fourteen years by Colonial Couriers of Savannah.

He was a communicant of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and for many years was an altar server and communion minister.

Mr. Felix was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Faye Felix.

He is survived by his wife, Loreta Forbes Felix; his sons, Joe Felix and Fred Felix of Savannah; daughter, Nancy Roush of Guyton, Georgia. Mr. Felix is also survived by his step-children, John Mary Forbes, Jr., Sharon Russell, Michael Donna Forbes, Franklin Marjorie Forbes, Donna Michael Sheffield, Joseph Forbes and Angela Thompson and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family extends special thanks to Drs. Robert F. Brown, Jr. and S. Alan Lord and the medical care providers at Hospice Savannah, Inc. for their dedication and compassion shown during Mr. Felix' illness.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist with burial following at the Catholic Cemetery.
