Grady C. Bragg
November 25, 1919 - December 30, 2008
Grady C. Bragg, 89 died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Hospice Savannah. He was a native of Millen, GA and lived in Savannah most of his life. He was a United States Army Veteran and was a member of Calvary in Savannah. Mr. Bragg was a past Commander and member of the American Legion Post 184 and the Alee Temple where he also was a member of the Dune Cats. He was a member of the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame and was a Golden Gloves Boxer, training many young boxers all over the area. He was an alternate for the 1936 Olympics for Bicycle Racing and a two time Georgia State Bicycle Champion.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Edith D. Bragg.
Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and William C. Herndon, of Savannah; Carol and Conrad Thomson, of Hiram, GA; and Nancy and Pete Brumfield, of Acworth, GA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. John Connell officiating.
