Kennneth W. Stahl

April 04, 1929 - May 25, 2009

Kennneth W. Stahl

Savannah – Kenneth William Stahl, 81, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital. Born in the Bronx, New York, son of William and Alice Stahl. He was the Vice President of the Peter F. Mallon Company of Long Island City, New York and was with the company for over 40 years. He moved from Williston Park, Long Island to Upper Saddle River, New Jersey in 1974 and retired to The Landings in Savannah, Georgia in 1989. He was a member of The Landings Club and an enthusiastic golfer since his retirement.

For many years he and his wife, Elaine spent vacations around the world where he enjoyed capturing sights, scenes and special moments on his video camera. Later on, he transferred them into memorable travelogues enjoyed by both family and friends. His special joy was Christmastime when he spent countless hours decorating the house inside and out with Santa's, trees, lights and hand-painted ornaments, figurines and porcelain houses. He truly loved being at The Landings and marveled daily at the beauty of the surroundings and the blessings of friendship.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Elaine Stahl, daughter, Carolyn Stahl of Commack, New York; sister, Doris Ford and family of Enfield, Connecticut.

The family will receive friends at the residence at The Landings from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009.

Remembrances: Save-A-Life, Savannah-Chatham County Humane Society or the charity of the donor's choice.

GUEST BOOK

Ken's camaraderie, enthusiasm, and good nature will be sorely missed. Ken had great love and respect for the game of golf. Few, like Ken, would play a round in 90 degree heat and percent humidity and then head to the practice range fervently believing that the mastering of the game was just one swing away. Ken was a good friend and always willing to help. I remember well the hours he spent installing my first computer, and teaching the rudiments to a cyber Neanderthal, me.
