Carl B. Cheek
April 12, 1931 - November 25, 2009
Carl Benferd Cheek, 78, of Savannah, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 25, 2009 at Hospice House of Savannah after a short illness. Carl served in the United States Air Force from 1947 until 1967 and retired as a Master Sergeant.
Carl will forever be remembered by his wife of 54 years, Faye Johnson Cheek; two sons, Carl Benferd "Benny" Cheek, Jr., and Larry Edward Cheek and his wife, Donnell; two brothers, Alfred Cheek and his wife Lanell, of Mt. Vernon, and Terry Cheek and his wife, Carol, of Macon; a sister-in-law, Jackie Lane and her husband, Jim, and brother-in-law, Wayne Johnson and his wife, Marilyn, of Peoria, AZ; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Kacie, and Chelsea Cheek, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with The Rev. Derward Poole officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Savannah for all their kind words and actions during this difficult time.
