Joseph M. "Gator" Pagan

Tybee Island - Joseph M. "Gator" Pagan, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at his home on Tybee Island surrounded by his family. Joe was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on April 25, 1929 before moving to Savannah.
He joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 19 and served during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the Marine Corps, Joe joined the Boilermakers Local No. 26 where he worked until he retired. Joe loved fishing and crabbing. He loved his family and friends and was a great husband and father. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Patricia Pagan.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Cheryl Pagan of Tybee Island; granddaughter, Haley, grandson, Dalton also of Tybee Island and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2014 in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
