Nancy, Chip, Tommy and John Mark my prayers are with you in this sad time. I was so sorry to hear the news. You know Mersia and Forrest would be the first ones by your side if they could and are surely there now in spirit. It seems like yesterday when we were neighbors waiting to see what the next Pruett adventure would be. Nancy, you and Charlie complemented each other well and were great parents for three adventurous boys and pets of all kinds. We may not be next door but still consider ourselves neighbors. JoAnn and I love you and will continue to keep you in our prayers for that peace that passes all understanding.

- Forrest (Buddy) Bloodworth, Jr., Dublin, GA

Mrs. Pruitt, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I am praying for you and your family through this chapter in your lives. I didn't know him as well as I knew you, but I wanted you to know I am thinking of you and praying for you.

- Tiffany Fennell Harless, Mandeville, Louisiana

Dear Nancy and family, Bob and I were saddened to read your news. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I pray that those wonderful memories you all have will help as time goes by. Sincerely, Dee

Saw the article on Coach Pruett this week and was saddened by the news. He was one of the most honest and upright men of my youth and set a great example. I spent a lot of time with the Pruett Family in Epworth and he was great to be around. On the field, he treated all of the players the same....with dignity and respect and expected the same in return. The World has lost a fine man and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. DML (Danny Linginfelter)

- Danny Linginfelter, St. Simons Island, GA

When my family first moved to St. Simons from Atlanta in 1983, we lived with my grandparents, James and Cliff Reese, right across the street on Ingham in Epworth. I did not know many people at all, and Coach and Mrs.Pruett were always so happy to greet me. Those were happy times. My prayers are with The Pruett Family during this tough time.

- Marion Reese Nelson, St Simons Island, GA

I want to extend my most heartfelt sympathy to Nancy and the boys. I was deeply saddened to read of the passing of Mr. Pruett(Charlie). It's hard to understand why loved ones are taken from us, but find comfort in knowing you all were a special part of a well-lived and well-loved life. You are in my thoughts every step of the way. Remember, 'When the Lord calls our loved ones home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange.

Coach Pruett was my high school coach from 74-76 and I have always had a special place in my heart and memories for him. Wonderful man and father figure to many high school kids. My condolences to the whole Pruett clan and my high school and college friend Chip.

Nancy, John Mark, Tommy, and Chip: We were so sorry to hear about the death of Coach Pruitt. His influence in our lives and in the lives of so many young people has had an untold impact. Teaching is one of those professions where you don't get to see a finished product. I can attest to the fact that Coach Charlie Pruitt had a tremendous impact on making many football players into great young men and fathers by his example. We regret not doing lunch again. We so enjoyed it when we were together. Dawne and Herman Hudson

- Hudson, Brunswick, GA

Nancy our hearts are saddened by the loss of Charlie. Charlie was always such a kind and considerate man and never too busy to lend a helping hand. We shall never forget the time when our young cousin came to visit and wanted to play tennis and Charlie came over to the tennis court and played and gave some pointers to our cousin. We never heard Charlies say an unkind word to or about anyone. Please know that Charlie has been in our prayers for months and you and the family will always be in our prayers Ralph and Miriam Graham

- Ralph and Miriam Graham, Saint Simons Island, , GA

Our hearts go out to you, Nancy, and your family. Charlie was a great guy and will be missed. We have missed visiting over the fence and did not realize he was ill. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Judy and Jerry

- Jerry and Judy Butler, St. Simons Island, GA

Coach Pruett was my high school football coach from 1976-1978. He believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself. He coached his players to work hard and play by the rules. Things I learned from him at age 16 I still use today at age 53. Your high school coach is forever linked to your youth and losing Coach Pruett makes me feel just a little bit older. His legacy is the hundreds of men who had the honor of playing for him. Hopefully, we have lived up to his standards. My thoughts and prayers go out to my buddy, Tommy and his brothers and Mrs. Pruett.

- David Butler, St. Simons, GA

Tom and Pruett family, I am deeply grateful for the many life lessons and good times from playing football for Coach Pruett at Glynn Academy. He was a great man that I think of often. (He also did a pretty good job with those two rookie coaches- Fehr and Howe that he broke in my Freshman year). Please accept the sympathy and prayers of my family at this time of grief and mourning.

- Mark Middleton, Peachtree Corners, GA

A wonderful man and a wonderful family. A life well lived.
