March 06, 1932 - January 23, 2016
Vincent “Chief” Dober Jr, age 83, passed away at his home on January 23, 2016. Vincent is survived by his former wife, Shirley Chaplin, his daughters Valerie Conner and Vicki Foley, his son Vincent Dober III, his spouse Susan, his grandchildren Mickey Foley, Kacie Lanier, Matthew Foley, Blaze Bryant, Meghan Dober, Cami Dober and Sam Dober. His great grandchildren Caleb Lanier, Cayleigh Foley, Makaylyn Lanier and Kensleigh Foley, his brother Frank Dober and his spouse Pat and numerous other nieces and nephews in Syracuse NY including his favorite nephew Ronald Romanczyk.
Vincent was born on March 6, 1932 in Syracuse New York. After graduating from high school he served four years in the United States Air Force, stationed at Hunter Army Airfield. There, he met and married the mother of his three children. He retired after 40 years as an Insurance Salesman at Gulf Life and American General. Vincent was a past member of the American Legion of Thunderbolt and the St Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. He loved to fish and, as he would say “play at golf.” He enjoyed his many trips home to Syracuse and the times he spent at Ronald's cabin.
To all the Dober family - truly sorry at Chief's passing. Sure will miss him. Always enjoyed seeing him during his Syracuse visits - especially "playing at golf". Rest in Peace Chief.

Going to miss the old man. We had plenty of good times here on Shackham Rd. Lots of good meals, golf, laughs, arguments and a few bottles of VO Gold. Won't be the same without him, but we will keep is menory alive!
