Celebrating the life of

Lorraine C. Conn

November 25, 1926 - August 30, 2016

Lorraine C. Conn

Lorraine Ciechanowski Conn, age 89, was born November 25,1926 in Chicago, II to Ignatius and Frances Ciechanowski. Lorraine went home to be with our Lord Tuesday, August 30, 2016, after an extended illness.

Lorraine moved from Chicago to Florida and then settled in Savannah, GA where she resided until her death. Lorraine was a Communicant of St. James Catholic Church before moving to Savannah Commons and when her health did not permit her to go to church, she would attend Mass with Father Gabe of St. Frances Cabrini at Savannah Commons. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith.

Her career was in the insurance business. She and a close friend of hers were the first ladies to test for and receive their Georgia Insurance License. A big accomplishment and she put that knowledge to use working for several agencies in Savannah before settling in at Bernard Williams and Company, and later when she started working part time, she was our go to person. She was always there to pass along that knowledge. She was also a long time member of the Insurance Women of Savannah.

Lorraine had many talents but two of her most favorite were cooking and sewing. As her co-workers, we were fortunate to be the recipients of both. We always loved it when she got our name for Christmas because we knew we would get something extra special and one of a kind. She was always cooking and bringing in her dishes to work or catering our parties. She was truly a special Lady, also one of a kind, and will be greatly missed by all of us.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bernard Conn, her parents, Ignatius and Frances Ciechanowski, a sister and a brother.

We will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Friday, September 2, 2016 at Fox &Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Hodgson Chapel of Fox &Weeks Funeral Directors.

Interment will follow in Catholic Cemetery at a date to be announced.

Pallbearers will be: Dan Pavlin; Charles McCoy; Robert Daniels; Alan Williams.

Remembrances may be made in her memory to The Catholic Diocese of Savannah, 2170 East Victory Dr., Savannah, GA 31404.

Rest well my sweet, beautiful friend. I feel blessed to have had you in my life. Even though I will miss your wit, your stories, your advise, and even your crankiness, I am happy that you are finally free of the pain you endured for so long. I know we will see each other again when I join you and my other loved ones in heaven. Hang tight and I will be there after a while. Love you always and forever!
