Florence C. Baker, 84, died at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA on Sunday, September 24, 2017.

She was born March 18, 1933 on Hilton Head Island, SC and lived in Savannah for most of her life where she raised her family. She was educated in public schools of Beaufort, SC. She was a loving dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and one of the most loyal friends you could ever pray to have. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Baker, Sr. and children, Walter Lee, Michael, and Johnny.

Surviving are her siblings - Geneva Burke, Viola Donaldson, Laura Mae Bryant, Evelina Frazier, Sadie Mae Chisolm, all of Hilton Head Island, SC; Special Cousin that was just like a sister, Easter Riley of Savannah, GA;

10 children and their spouses- Evelyn (Walt) of Boston, MA; Julius of Savannah, GA; Melvin of Hilton Head Island, SC; Avon (Melinda) of Hilton Head Island, SC; Gloria (Larry) of Savannah, GA ; Earnestine (Ramji) of Savannah, GA ; George Jr. (Michelle) of Stone Mountain, GA ; Thomas of Savannah, GA; Phillip (Andrea) of Savannah, GA; Johnnie Mae (Napoleon) of Savannah, GA; Godchild Jerome Bryant of Hilton Head Island, SC;

34 Grandchildren and their spouses - Angela, Joyce, Antonio, Melanie (Joseph), Shaniqua "Nell" (Kevin), Chapaider, Anthony, Shelley "Peaches", Yvonne, Victoria, April "Blossom", Askisi (Ty' Jashanikqa), Jasmine, George III, Alisa, Rashond, Johnny, Chris (Valerie), Desrae "Pooh", Larry, Cayla, Ashley, Destiny, Fatima, Marcus, Malik, April, Keisha, Nay’f, Dionne, Shavon, Kim, Avonna, Julia (deceased);

40 Great Grandchildren - Hakeem, Niqunna, Krishauna, Patience, Taharee, Zaire, Zikeel, Azira, Noah, Emmanuel, Keyshaun, Candace, Lauren, King, Miracle, Jada, Jaden, SaLyrica, SaNyla, Shaniyah, Desrae, Ariel, Paris, London, Messiah, Spencer, Lyric, Cameron, Julian, Teleah, Calin, Zylon, Cairo, Rayahna, Jaylen, Jayda, Faith, Kaylin, Isis, Messiah, John (deceased), Jermiah (deceased). Great-Great Grandchild, Kirsten. And a beautiful host of loving, nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, located at 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Monday, October 2, 2017 at Second Arnold Baptist Church, 1427 East 37th Street, Savannah, GA 31404. Serving as pallbearers will be friends and family. Interment will follow at 2 pm in Beaufort National Cemetery.
