Celebrating the life of

Marshall Eugene (Buzz) Tuck

February 05, 1951 - April 07, 2026

Marshall Eugene (Buzz) Tuck

Marshall Eugene (Buzz) Tuck, a devoted husband, father, veteran, and friend to many, passed away on April 7, 2026 after a short unexpected illness. Born in Loudon, Tennessee, Marshall was one of six children and carried with him a deep sense of family, loyalty, and humor throughout his life.

Marshall proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, both on active duty and in the reserves. It was during his time at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, that he met the love of his life, Linda. Married August 9, 1975, their partnership of over 50 years was built on love, laughter, and unwavering support.

He and Linda began their life together in Albany, Georgia, before settling in Savannah in 1980.

Marshall dedicated many years of his professional life to Hunt-Wesson and later to Gulfstream Aerospace, where he was a respected and valued employee until his retirement.

He was deeply engaged in his community and took great pride in his involvement with organizations such as the Marine Corps League (serving as Commandant of Dog Company), Westside Toastmasters Club, the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, the Gulfstream Retirees Club, and the Veterans Council. He also earned his master’s degree from Savannah State University, a testament to his commitment to personal growth and lifelong learning.

Marshall never met a stranger. He loved bringing people together, whether through community events, social gatherings, or simple time spent with friends and family. He found joy working in his garage, especially woodworking, where he could create with his hands and share his talents with others.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa, and his mother (Phyllis Hope) and father (Allan B. Tuck, Jr.).

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Linda; his son, Mark “King Kong”; and his daughter, Beth “Trouble.” He is also survived by his siblings, Erick, Denny, Vicki, and Sara along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

Marshall’s legacy is one of service, connection, humor, and love; a life well lived and deeply felt by all who knew him.

I work with the Savannah Chamber, and we are heartbroken to learn of Marshall's passing. He was a true champion for small businesses, a natural connector, and the embodiment of a Southern gentleman. He was always willing to lend his time and expertise-whether helping business owners navigate relationships with larger companies or stepping in wherever support was needed within our Chamber. His generosity, wisdom, and steady presence made a lasting impact on so many of us. To say he will be missed is an understatement. His absence will leave a void that simply cannot be filled, but his legacy of kindness, leadership, and dedication will continue to inspire us all.

To the Tuck family, I am deeply saddened by the news of your loss. Marshall was one of the kindest people I ever met. We worked and sat next to each other at Gulfstream for several years. He was a great friend. He was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and always in great spirits. He was a connector of people and positive influence - through his involvement with Toastmasters, the Chamber of Commerce and other organizations. I will miss him dearly - especially his infectious smile, hearing him say yabba, dabba, doo, wearing Snoopy ties, stories about his family, days in the Marines, Toastmasters, Gulfstream and general life lessons.

- Marini Jackson, Savannah, Georgia

Dear family, I am saddened at learning of Marshall's passing. I met him at the Gulfstream Retiree Club on joining in January 2022. Although we both worked at Gulfstream, our paths never crossed. He always greeted me with a smile and firm handshake. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers these next weeks and months. Mike

I am so sorry for your loss. Marshall was a guiding light during my early days in Toastmasters. From the very beginning, he made himself available, not just to me, but to anyone new and he was always ready with encouragement and advice when we needed it most. Because of him, many of us grew more confident as speakers and as people. I know there are many that will miss his jokes and the laughs he brought to us all. Marshall's impact will be felt for a long time.

- Seth Sawyer, Savannah, GA

I am so very sorry for your Loss of Marshall Tuck and sending Prayers for your family . He was my first 1st Sgt in the U.S. Marines Corps Reserves when I was rotating off a period of active duty Marine Corps side into my Marine Corps Reserve unit on Wheaton Street. He was always a good fair man to talk to about a problem or give advice for any situation. Marshall would be always looking out for us when our Unit would be working in the Fleet working with other Marine Units. I met him again many years later at the Veterans Administration Clinic in Savannah and some other Marines that I served with and later I joined the Marine Corps League as a result. I worked with him many times on the Higgins Boat at Hunter Airfield doing repairs for the St. Patrick's Day Parade and I still would find myself always calling hIm "Msgt" and always enjoyed working with him. I will always miss working with because he equally was in there with us trying to the work as he did in the Marines. I will miss him fondly and hope to see him again in the Marine Corps Barracks in Heaven telling where me to stoll my gear.

- Wensley H Hobby III, Richmond Hill, GA

Tuck was a dear friend that was always willing to help in any task, as we took care of all the veterans at GAC. His loyalty to his fellow Marines was unmatched. Many don't know this but Tuck paid out of his own pocket so that there could be a Marine Corp Birthday Cake cutting ceremony each year, in several different GAC locations. You will be missed my friend!!!

- Davis Purdom, Pooler, GA

I met and talked to Marshall through my husband at a company events and meetings. He was funny and engaging. I remember that he looked soo proud when his daughter joined at one of the events. He always made me feel welcome at those Gulfstream Affairs. I last saw him at a Veterans Event. Your presence, smile, and humor will be missed. Praying for God's peace and comfort during this difficult time.

- Mrs. Xavier Ragin, Pooler, GA

John and I are wishing the Tuck family comfort and peace to face the days ahead and loving memories to hold in your heart. A loving memory that I have goes back 40+ years. The rest of his family hadn't arrived in Savannah. So in a moment of what do I do, Marshall baked a dozen cupcakes. Then he came sheepishly smiling to our back door to share his goodies. It was such an unexpectedly kind gesture. May our Lord's peace be with all of you during this most difficult time.

- Conni and John Wambold, Savannah , Georgia

My deepest condolences to Marshall's family. I knew Mark during our younger years, but I got to know Marshall while working at Gulfstream and dealing with the arduous pcard system. He took his job very seriously, but always had a great sense of humor. Definitely a character that I will always remember. Keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers. Katherine Nash Vaccaro
