Danny Lee F. Paul, 96, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully and with dignity on January 13, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family in Savannah, GA. 

Danny was born in Casper, WY to Edith Gibbons Anthes and Daniel Doty Anthes. 

She was not only a devoted wife and mother, but also a lifelong educator whose passion for children shaped countless lives. 

Danny graduated from Radford College in Radford, VA with a Bachelor of Arts in 1951.  This is where she met her cherished husband, Professor H. Lee Paul Jr.  They married in 1953 and spent 55 devoted years together.

Danny received a master’s degree from Boston University.  She served in many school systems from CT to NY as a guidance counselor and reading specialist, where her passion for education influenced the young lives of her many students.

She is survived by her children H. Lee Paul III (Annette), Kerry P. Ufford (John), and Lisa P. Koelle (Patrick), 2 granddaughters, and 5 great-grandchildren.  She has a sister D’Arcy F. Danielson (Jeffrey). Danny was predeceased by her husband, H. Lee Paul Jr., her mother Edith Gibbons Fugate, her stepfather Charles H. Fugate and her sister Sally Fugate Stuckey. 

Danny was a communicant of the Episcopal Church, she was an avid tennis player, bridge player, gardener, and proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  As in life, Danny and Lee will be reunited in Heaven.

A private memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Savannah, GA.
