Eubie Merle Hendrix

Eubie Merle Hendrix, 84, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025.  Born on April 10, 1941, in Portal, Georgia, she was the daughter of Joseph Gordon Hodges and Beulah Merle Hodges.

While working at Union Camp, Eubie was introduced to John Hendrix.  They were married for sixty-one years until his passing in 2025.  She graduated from Savannah High School and worked for many years at Roper, Trinity United Methodist Church, and Savannah Foods Transales.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Hendrix; daughter, Angela; son-in-law, David Wood; and grandson, Jacob Wood.  She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Douglass, Hilda Deason, and Brenda Bazemore; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Joann Chester.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Eubie was a wonderful lady who I worked with for many years at Savannah Foods. I never hear a harsh word come from her mouth and she always wore a smile. She was truly a Godly classy person who was loved by all God bless your family as you grieve while she rejoices in heaven.
