Emory (Speer) Nesbit

Emory “Speer” Nesbit

05/05/2020-08/07/2025

Emory “Speer” Nesbit, beloved son of Emory and Anna Wells Nesbit, passed away on August 7th at the age of 5. Speer was the loving brother to Lynnon, Mills and Edward “Teddy” Nesbit. He is survived by his adoring siblings, and a large family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who cherished him deeply.

Speer was the most courageous, brave, and loving person his family has ever known. A true gift from God, he brought light, laughter and joy to every heart he touched. He was in his happy place when he was in the living room, surrounded by the love and noises of all his family members and siblings playing. He loved his toys, especially those that lit up with bright lights and song. His family imagines the lights and the beauty he now sees in heaven.

Speer had a gift for keeping a smile on his face, and his giggle and laugh lit up the room for all those who knew him.  Even in a hospital room, Speer continued to touch all those who entered his room with joy and peace.

Speer was surrounded by a family of faith. His favorite songs were about Jesus. He adored being in his Church Sunday School room with the precious volunteers of Community Bible Church.

While we mourn Speer’s earthly absence, we take comfort in knowing he is in the safe arms of Jesus. Speer’s life was a life of service and humility. His family saw Jesus in him in so many ways. Though his time on earth was too short, his impact is immeasurable to all who came into his “sphere”.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to his wonderful therapists, doctors, and nurses, who loved and cared for him as if he were their own. Your compassion, dedication, and kindness will always be remembered with love. His legacy will live on in the hearts and acts of love we carry out in his memory. His family imagines him now running, playing catch and talking with the Lord Jesus.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Community Bible Church, 1112 E. 69th Street, Savannah, GA.

A celebration of Speer’s life will be held, 11:00 a.m.,Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Community Bible Church, 1112 E. 69th Street, Savannah, Georgia, with a private family graveside service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by donating to Community Bible Church.

Forever our joy—until we meet again.
