Celebrating the life of
Phyllis Johnson Parham
May 15, 1932 - August 11, 2023

Phyllis J. Parham, age 91, passed away August 11, 2023, in Savannah, Ga.
Phyllis was born on May 15, 1932, in Griffin, Ga, the only child of Luther Echols Johnson of Carrolton, GA, and Ella Gray Stapleton Johnson of Griffin, Ga. The family moved in 1946 from Griffin to Tavares, Fl, and then to Savannah, where Phyllis attended Commercial High School.
A longtime resident of both Thunderbolt and Wilmington Island, she was an intelligent and personable woman who co-owned and operated businesses with her husband and owned several businesses of her own for many years. She later worked in several positions for the City of Savannah, retiring in 1992
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Eva Morgan Thompson (Donald E.) of Wilmington Island, Ga; great-grandson Donald J. Thompson; and numerous cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Luther and Ella Gray Johnson, her daughters, Lisa Carol Bradley and Nancy Kaye Bradley, and her grandson Harold E. Thompson.
Per her wishes, her remains were cremated, and no formal funeral will take place in Savannah. Her ashes will be interred beside her parents in her family cemetery in Griffin, Ga, where a graveside memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
Ms Phyllis was a delight the few times I met her. I know she loved and lived a good life and will be missed by all who knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time.
