Celebrating the life of

Vy Truong Mai

Vy Truong Mai

Vy Truong Mai March 6, 1980 – March 3, 2018

Vy Truong Mai was called back into the Lord’s heavenly service on March 3, 2018. He was born in Okinawa, Japan, to Thien Huu and Tung Thi Mai. In late 1980, he journeyed with his parents and eldest sister to America as a Vietnamese refugee seeking a new life of freedom and opportunity.

Vy believed in the four Fs: family, friends, fishing, and the Falcons. He was beyond generous in lending a helping hand, a kind word, or a goofy smile to his many family and friends. A dedicated Gulfstream Aerospace employee of 11 years, Vy was well respected as a Senior Coordinator and loved being a member of the Gulfstream family.

Vy is survived by his parents; his sisters, Vy Ty, Tovi, and Truc Vi Mai; his fiancé, Truc Linh Huynh; and countless relatives including his maternal grandmother, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 8 and Friday, March 9, 2018 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. Prayer services will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday and 8:00 pm on Friday in the Islands Chapel.

The Funeral Service will be at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery.
