Celebrating the life of
Lewis Warren Reed Sr.

Lewis Warren Reed Sr. died peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.
Warren was born in Newport News, Virginia to John B. and Mary Beck Reed. He was a graduate of Warwick High School, Class of 1958. Warren went on to receive his BA from Virginia Military Institute. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.
In 2003, Warren married Annette Brewer Canady of Twin City, Georgia. They have several children. After 45 years of service, he retired as Senior Vice President Investment Officer with Wells Fargo in Newport News, Virginia.
In addition to his wife, Annette, Warren leaves behind his son, Warren Reed Jr. (Chris) of Grover, NC; stepsons, Mark Canady (Shannon) of Kite, GA and Joe Canady (Heather) of Swainsboro, GA; stepdaughter, Renee Wilkes (Tim) of Gainesville, GA; brother, Michael Reed (Barbara) of Newport News, VA; as well as 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel, with a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m.

So very sorry to read the sad news--Warren and I were room mates at VMI during our 2nd and 3rd years there. He was always a go-getter, our senior year Captain of E company and great all around student and friend.

Warren and I were best friends for more than 25 years. I do now and will always regret us not staying close after he moved to Savannah. A great many of my life memories include Warren, and my life was greatly enriched by having Warren as a friend.
