Sharon G. Varn

Sharon Glendye Varn, age 77, of Savannah, Georgia was called home to be with the Lord.  Saturday, June 3, 2023, after a short stay in Hospice Savannah.  

Sharon was born on October 2, 1946, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, but spent most of her life in Pin Point community in Savannah, GA.  A graduate of Jenkins High School and Armstrong College, She was strong in her faith in Jesus.  Sharon was loved and respected by many.  Her work with the Chatham County Health Department in Environmental Health and The Pin Point Heritage Museum allowed her to touch many lives. She loved unconditionally. She was a rock with a sweet smile. She was our "Precious Queen". The matriarch of the family.  She will be forever missed. 

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Charlotte Sisson Glendye and Richard L. Glendye Sr.

She is survived by her husband Algernon S Varn III, children Ashby Koontz of Savannah, April Varn Walker (Brian), grandchildren Mike Garcia, Molly Garcia, and Maya Garcia,, Stella and Jackson Walker and grandson Raylan Foust.

A casual visitation will be held from 2-4, Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Fox and Weeks, Hodgson Chapel to celebrate her life.
