I'm so sorry to learn that Ernie lost his battle with cancer. I certainly understand the pain and grief that comes with losing a husband, having lost Gary in April. May time and memories help you and your family with the loss, but encourage you as you move forward in life without your partner. My thoughts are with you, Cindy Johnson

I am very sorry about the loss of Ernie, and I offer my sympathy to Doris, Mark and all of his other relatives and friends. I remember him fondly from my college days when he was still in junior high and high school. He was always an open a friendly person to me when I would visit Mark in their home. I am so glad I was able to visit him after he retired. I know he was a very happy person, enjoyed retirement and was devoted to Doris, Mark and Maribeth. He will be missed.

I remember meeting Ernie when he was in high school and I came to their home in Windsor Forrest to pick up Mark. He was so friendly and had a great sense of humor. He also had a pet rat!! When I came through the front door I accidentally let out James and Sherman the dogs that were escape artists . Besides hunting and fishing Ernie enjoyed baseball , tennis and golf as a spectator sport. He attended the Masters as often as possible. I remember hearing a family story about Mr. Johnson writing a letter to Ernie Johnson the professional baseball player to let him know he had a son named Ernie Johnson who was a very good high school baseball player. My thoughts and prayers are with the Johnson family. Angie Decker Tybee Island, Georgia
