Thang Hoang

            On the afternoon of May 17th, 2023, Thang Hoang passed away peacefully at Savannah Hospice surrounded by loved ones from congestive heart failure. He was 93 years old.

He was born in Vietnam on August 4th, 1929. Throughout his life, he was the embodiment of a fighting spirit. During the 1970s, he was able to emigrate from Vietnam with his family to eventually settle here in Savannah. He always fought to better the life of his family. His legacy lives on through the fighting spirit in each one of his family members.

He is survived by his wife of more than 70 years, Sau Hoang. He was the loving father to 3 daughters: Tan Ho, Phan Tran, Doi Hoang, and son: Boi Hoang.

Tan & Hai Ho have 4 children: Son Ho, Tam Ho, Vu Ho, & Xuan Ho.

            Son and his wife Shannon Ho.

            Tam Ho and his wife Sandy Nguyen have their 2 sons Zachary and Alex.

Vu and his wife Hillary Ho have their 4 children: AJ Sims, Ella Ho, Quynh Ho, & Vu Theodore Ho.

            Xuan Ho and her fiancé Guillermo “Billie” Castro.

Phan & Trung Tran have 2 children: Kiet Tran & Kieu Tran

            Kiet and his wife Anna Le Tran have their daughter Mai.

            Kieu Tran and her husband Dillon “Allen” Hicks have their 2 daughters Lucy and Daisy.

Doi Hoang has 3 children: Dung Nguyen, Ann Nguyen, and Victoria Nguyen, and is married to her husband Roberto Gonzales.

            Dung Nguyen and his girlfriend Jeanie Nguyen.

            Victoria Nguyen and her husband Andrew Bae.

Boi and his wife Catherine Chandler Hoang have 2 children: Vincent Hoang & Veronica Hoang.

His family will continue to carry on his legacy.

Services in celebration of his life will be held at Fox & Weeks. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 6-8 PM. Funeral services begin at 10 AM on Sunday. Burial will follow at Greenwich Cemetery.
