John Norman Waters

John Norman Waters

John Norman Waters, 85, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at his home in Richmond Hill.  He was born in June 19, 1937 to the late John and Gertrude Waters.  Mr. Waters graduated in 1955 from Commercial High School, after which he worked for many years for the Norfolk Southern Railroad where he retired in Charlotte, NC as District Manager before relocating to Savannah.  He was a member of Bull Street Baptist Church, and attended Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church, where he was a Deacon.  He was an active member of the Exchange Club of Savannah and an avid golfer, who enjoyed playing with his many friends in Savannah, and the Richmond Hill Golf Blitz.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn L. Waters, two daughters, Debbie Ayers (Jeffrey), and Terri White (Rodney) both of North Carolina, two step-daughters, Karen Rebecca, and Barbara Ansley (Steve) of Georgia, two grandsons, Alex Ansley of Georgia, and Wesley Moose of North Carolina, and two sisters, Margie Lee (Ron) and Gwen Waters Walker, both of North Carolina.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA.

A Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2023 at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park, 1600 Wheaton Street, Savannah, GA 31404.
