Stephen Neil Bell, 73, passed away Tuesday, May 2023 at his home.  He was born July 8, 1949 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Richard Bell, his son Michael Bell and step-daughter Loraine Womble.

He is survived by his wife Teri Bell, daughter Trisha Bell of Atlanta, 2 step-sons Larry Summerlin (Jenny) and Jeremiah Womble.  A sister Barbara Bell (Lovell, Wyoming), brother, Richard Bell (Oakland, California), sister-in-law Maria Miles (Savannah), and six wonderful grandchildren whom he adored. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and his beloved shelties, Joy and Toby.

Steve graduated from Unionville Highschool, Kennett Square, PA, and from Virginia Tech with a degree in Bachelor Architecture. After graduation he enlisted in the Army where he rose to the rank of captain and oversaw various engineering projects in the States and Korea. After discharge, he continued working as a Civil Servant for the US Army Corps of Engineers as a Sr. Project Manager for military construction and retired in 2005 after 32 years of service. He then went to work for Engineering Design and Technology as a Senior Project Manager until his death.

Steve was an active member of Independent Presbyterian Church where he loved singing praises to our Lord and Savior in the choir.

Steve and his wife started a business together in 2006, Miss Sophies, a restaurant and catering company, located inside the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Fox and Weeks, Hodgson Chapel from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Monday, May 8, 2023 at Independent Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow at Greenwich Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to Independent Presbyterian Church, 207, Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401, or the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, 175 Bourne Ave, Pooler, GA 31322.
