Celebrating the life of

Elizabeth Ann Davis DuBose

August 09, 1942 - April 23, 2023

Elizabeth Ann Davis DuBose

Elizabeth Ann DuBose, 80, passed away at home on Sunday, April 23, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia and moved to Tybee Island, Georgia in 1990 where she lived until she retired.

Everyone who knew her always called her Ann. Our mother loved the Lord and practiced her faith at All Saints Episcopal Church on Tybee or at home reading her bible. Ann began her career as a self-employed Beautician who worked at both nursing homes on Tybee prior to the many years she operated an in-home salon known as Ann's Beauty Shop on Lewis Avenue until she retired. Her customers on Tybee will remember that Ann always had her children and grandchildren stopping in because she was the heart of our family and treasured her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren most in her life. Our mother had a great life because she left this world with both the love of the Lord and the excitement of her family’s future in her heart. She was so proud that her youngest granddaughter and oldest great-granddaughter were both graduating from college/high school while her youngest great-grandson was graduating from kindergarten all this year. She had a unique relationship with each of us as our Mom/Memaw as she treasured all in her family the most in her life.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband Charles E. DuBose, her parents Samuel and Margaret

(Smith) Davis, and brothers Paul Davis, Thomas Davis, and Herbert Davis. Surviving is her 3 children

Tamela D. Brown (Robert), Tracy D. Johnson (Steve), and son Kevin E. DuBose; 4 grandchildren Amber

Padgett, Steven Johnson Jr., Rebecca Johnson, and Madison DuBose and 3 great grandchildren Jayden Padgett, Madelyn Monroe, and Luke Johnson. Also surviving is her sister Virginia Davis, sister-in-law Martha Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held Monday, May 1, 2023, at 1 pm in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family suggest In lieu of flowers, any remembrances may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or a Children's Charity of your choice.
