Joseph Willard Grantham, 75, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

The Winterhaven, FL native was born on September 12, 1947 to the late Jess W. Grantham and Evelyn Ferreira.

In addition to his father, Joseph was predeceased by his son, Joshua Jeremy Grantham.

Joseph’s passion was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

A highly decorated Marine, Joseph was wounded while serving in Vietnam in the United States Marine Corp. He was awarded two Purple Hearts for his heroic service.  He was a communicant of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.

Joseph attended Ohio State University where he studied Real Estate. He worked as a realtor for many years. Joseph served as Mayor in Bryce,OH for 10 years and owned and operated several businesses throughout his lifetime. After moving to Savannah, Joseph was a manager of a flooring business.

Surviving are his wife, Mindy Brun Grantham; son, Jason Grantham (Kimberly) of Statesboro; two grandchildren, Gabrianna Faith and Hunter Joshua Grantham, both of Statesboro; mother, Evelyn Ferresia; two sisters, Donna Grantham (Ronald) of Naples, FL and Linda Joseph of Orange County CA; brother, Michael Grantham of Liberty County; two nephews, Richard Nichols (Christina), and Mitch Joseph; and a niece, Misty Joseph. Joseph also leaves behind his dear friends, Fred Hubbard, and Dick and Darlene Murphy.

Visitation will begin 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. April 25, 2023 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with A Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Rev. Gabe Cummings celebrating. Burial with full military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Beaufort National Cemetery.
