Gary Lindsey Johnson

Gary Lindsey Johnson, passed away on April 4, 2023 after a brief illness.

The Savannah native was the son of the late Truman and Hazel Porter Johnson. Gary was a 1970 graduate of Savannah High School and attended Armstrong State College, where he studied Business Administration and was a brother and past president of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He owned and operated Johnson Air in Thunderbolt for more than 40 years. Gary served with the 117th Air National Guard. He loved the waterways surrounding Chatham County and the mountains of Western North Carolina. 

Gary will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years, Cynthia Carlyle Johnson; and his beloved English Cocker Spaniels.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023 in Bonaventure Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery for one hour prior to the service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in Gary’s memory to The American Cancer Society, 428 Bull Street, Unit 205, Savannah, GA 31401.
