Charles Norbert Jones, 86, of Savannah, Georgia, died March 31, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. 

Norbert was born on September, 26, 1936, in Savannah, Georgia to Ralph Levi Jones and Edna Mae Brown Jones both from Savannah. After graduating Savannah High School he went on to study mechanical engineering at Georgia Tech. 

Norbert is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice Poston Jones, three daughters, Amy Jones Hatch (Roddy) of Savannah, Ga, Susan Jones Gallo (Stephen) of Mission Viejo, Ca, and Lisa Jones Borden (John) of Atlanta, Ga. He has six grandchildren, Mary Carroll Hatch, RJ Hatch, IV, Abby Borden, Jackson Borden, William Gallo and Sabrina Gallo. He has one brother, Ed Jones (Shirley) of Orlando, Fla, sisters, Anita Johnson, of Vacaville, Ca, and Margie Kennedy, of West Chester. Pa. He also has many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Jones. 

Norbert worked the majority of his engineering career with Stone Container as the Chief Plant Engineer. Once retired he continued working as a consultant. Janice and Norbert traveled the world visiting both North and South America, Europe and Asia. He was an avid woodworker creating many beautiful pieces of furniture. He loved sailing and Georgia Tech football. He navigated his life with a deep love of his friends and family. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Funeral service will immediately follow at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will will be held in Bonaventure Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roddy Hatch, III, John Borden, IV, Stephen Gallo, RJ Hatch, Jackson Borden and William Gallo.
