Corine Barnes Jaudon

Corine Barnes Jaudon, age 92 of Savannah, passed away on March 30, 2023 with her family close by. Corine was born March 28, 1931 to Leamon and Nina Todd Barnes in Taylor’s Creek/Glenville, Georgia. She graduated from Commercial High School in Savannah in 1950 before working at Tetley Tea in Savannah from 1950 until 1954 and at Chevron Oil in Savannah from 1954 to 1994. She served as a shipping coordinator of oil for the East coast of the United States and Puerto Rico. Chevron Oil was also formerly known as Unocal, Union 76, and Pure Oil.

She was a member of Ardsley Park Life Church for many years and was previously a member of Faith Primitive Baptist when it was founded. She married her husband of 38 years, Carter Jaudon Sr., in 1955.

Corine is survived by her son, Carter Jaudon, Jr of Tucker; brother-in-law, Cleon Lewis of Savannah; nephews, Dr. Michael Vaughn (Jackie), Edward R. Cobia, Robert Drew Barnes (Amy), Debbie Blackburn (Fred), Craig Lewis, and James Jimmy Jaudon III, of Savannah, Chris Lawson (Sherry) of Friday Harbor, WA, Chad Lewis of Atlanta, GA, Allen Lewis of New Zealand, and Chuck Lewis (Carla) of Macon, GA; great-nephews and nieces, Brandy Zinn, Corey Jaudon, Travis Jaudon, Michael Jaudon, Daniel Powell, Winter Fass and Summer Denmark of Savannah, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leamon and Nina Barnes; husband, Carter J Jaudon Sr.; sisters, Martheda Barnes Humphries Lewis, Faye Hearon (Rodney), Lavine Cobia (Edward) and a brother, Robert (Bob) Barnes (Evie) as well as niece, Kidron Jaudon Robertson.

Visitation will be held at Fox and Weeks, Hodgson Chapel on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Services will be held jointly with her sister (Martheda) on Monday (April 3) at 11 a.m., internment following at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Savannah.
