David Glenn Lemley, Jr.

The family and friends of David Lemley, Jr. are heartbroken to share his unexpected passing on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Memorial University Medical Center.

David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ann Edenfield Lemley; sons, David, Matthew (Dana), John (Julie) Lemley, and Joseph Wade; brother, Danny Lemley (Norma); brother-in-law, Ed Elmore (Judy); grandchildren, Jenevie, Isaac, Jacob, Isabella, Madeline, Olivia, Maximo, Lola Lemley, and Jillian Wade. He also leaves behind cousins, nieces, nephews, a large extended family and many dear friends.

David was predeceased by his parents, David and Margaret Lemley, Sr.; sister, Diane Lemley Rath and a son, William Jacob Wade.

A long-time career employee of Southern Bell/Bell South/ATT, David leaves behind many co-workers with some wonderful long-lasting friendships (with stories!), made throughout his working years. He was a member of CWA Union and held several offices and positions during his telephone career. David attended First Baptist Church and was a Christian. Retiring in 2013, David had time to enjoy gardening, traveling, and spending time with Ann in the antiques business.

The family will receive friends on Saturday March 25, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, followed by a service at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow in Greenwich Cemetery.
