August 16, 1968 - March 06, 2023

Janet (Jan) Stafford White

Jan Stafford White, 54, died peacefully on March 6, 2023 at Memorial University Medical Center.

Jan was a lifelong resident of Savannah. The only child of the late Jimmy Lester Stafford and Shirley Lariscy Horovitz was born on August 16, 1968. She was a graduate of Calvary Day School and attended Georgia Southern University.

Jan’s family was the most important thing in her life, her three sons bringing her the greatest joy. Jan’s love for animals was a powerful force throughout her life. She worked as a dog walker and pet sitter for many years and had a passion for caring for all living creatures.

In addition to her father, Jan was predeceased by a son, J. Riley White.

Jan leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Grayson and Chandler White; mother, Shirley Horovitz, all of Wilmington Island; a half-brother, Brian Stafford; aunts, Annette Guthrie, Barbara Burns, and Cathy Simpson; and an uncle, Steve Stafford.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until  2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.

GUEST BOOK

Shirley, Grayson, Chandler, Brian & Jan's extended family-- we were saddened and sorry to hear of Jan's unexpected passing at such a young age. We have fond memories of spending time with her during our high school years and then running into her as the years passed. We will remember her as a beautiful Soul, a loving/caring Daughter, Mother, Niece and always a Loyal and True Friend. We pray for her Spirit and we pray that God will comfort all of you during this difficult time.

- Richard & Ann Lutz & our Family, Savannah, Georgia

Jan Stafford was my sisters best friend throughout high school and beyond. I was always the little sister too young to tag along but Jan always made me feel like I was one of the girls. Jan was a beautiful light who’s love shined bright upon every person she met every day of her life. She loved her children more than she loved life itself. The world lost an angel but her loving light will forever shine on through our memories.

A candle has been lit!

We will always love and miss her she brought a smile to everyone she new

- Dean and Tiffany Morrison , Tybee Island, GA

Our condolences to the family. Jan and I use to have a blast at Tybee, hanging out and the fishing camp. Always aggravating Bud and Evelyn, they were the best. They would put candy bars in the freezer for us. I am going to miss her. We would see each other often on the island. Jan, your smile will light up heaven. I'm sure Riley was waiting for you. I will miss you. Until we meet again, Lisa Cragg Davis, Frances Baker Birge and family.
