Keith Kozel

Keith Earl Kozel passed away peacefully in his sleep at home 21 February 2023 after a very long struggle with Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia.  He was one week short of 55 years of age.  Survivors include his father, Tom; loving stepmother, Ann; brother Richard; life partner, Carrie; children, Zelia , 9 years and Wolfgang, 7 years; stepaunt Gail; mother, Karen and stepfather, Ben.  Paul and Julie Christian, Carrie’s parents, and her siblings, were all very important to him.  Keith was known and loved by very many in Savannah and was a friend and inspiration to all he met.  He was an artist, musician and longtime manager of the kitchen at Vinnie Van Go Go’s.  A private gathering of family and closest friends will take place this Saturday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home.  A celebration of Keith’s life where all his friends may come will happen Saturday, 4 March from 5-9 pm in the Courtyard at Foxy Loxy Cafe on Bull Street.

A candle has been lit!

Thirty five years have passed since I have spent time with Keith. Yet my heart has broken open, flooding memories and tears. Looking at his photos, reading his posts, and listening to his music, I realize how much I missed. Keith lived a beautiful life. My love for him when we were young now extends to you, his family.
