He often said if you felt bad just go outside and work through it, you would feel better. Joe loved playing softball, as a young man in the Navy until recent years. Genealogy was a passion with Joe and he was able to document 169 years of Wilharms living in Thunderbolt! He was a member of the Greater Savannah Softball Association and The American Legion Post 184 in Thunderbolt.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Irene Anderson Wilharm, sisters, Betty Wilharm Greenwood and Rosemary Wilharm Atkinson.

- JOAN CESARONI COUNSIL, WILMINGTON ISLAND, GA

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Wilharm families during this difficult time in the loss of their loved one. Joe demonstrated so many fine qualities. The one very admirable quality he consistently demonstrated as an NCOIC in our ANG unit was his ability to "listen". He would always hear all input before he shared his thoughts. When he did speak, Joe's feedback was very sound and wise. He was a very good leader and well respected throughout the unit. Joe Wilharm has made very positive contributions in his life and set high standards for all who knew him. May God give his family peace and comfort during this challenging time.

- Jake R Suddath, Fernandina Beach, FL
