Celebrating the life of
Carl Ellis Neal
October 11, 1933 - February 01, 2023
Carl Ellis Neal passed away February 1, 2023, at the age of 89.
Carl was born October 11, 1933, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Margueritte Mims Neal and Cicero Rollins Neal. Carl was educated in Jacksonville and serviced in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He retired from Shell Oil Company in 1993, where he worked in the marketing department of the Atlanta, Georgia district office. In his early years he was a Freemason in Jacksonville, Florida and a Shriner at the Alee Temple, Savannah, GA, in the motorcycle unit. Carl worked many years as a volunteer at Candler Hospital, as well as being a member and volunteer at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. He loved tennis and played for many years.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Nan Arledge Neal, as well as his sisters, Dorothy Scott, Helen Ledig, Shirley McCormack and Ruth Davis.
Carl is survived by his daughters, Janet N. Adams (Steve) and Jean N. Ashmore (George); Grandchildren, Rebecca A Watts (Brent), Rachel A. Resler (Dirk), Carolyn A Spellman (Sean), Daniel Ashmore (Lily) and Jacob Carl Ashmore; Great Grandchildren, Greer Watts, Lenore Watts, Drexel Watts, Kolby Resler, Madelyn Resler and Sally Ashmore; His youngest sister Evelyn Freshwater of Jacksonville, Florida.
Memorial Services will be held at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church February 24th at 11:30 am. He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
