Celebrating the life of

Brenda Hayner

December 18, 1946 - January 29, 2023

Brenda Hayner

Mrs. Brenda Hayner, 76, of Charleston and previously Savannah, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many throughout her life.

Brenda was born and raised in Savannah, then moved around the world as a military wife to her first husband before coming home to raise a son among her family. She loved music, dancing, tennis, creating memories with friends and family, and traveling with her second husband, Charles Spillane Sr., or Charlie, as she called him. They were married for over 25 years and filled their time with fun - taking trips, dining out, and celebrating special occasions with loved ones.

Brenda is survived by her son, Robert Hayner, his wife Beth; their children Griffyn and Jameson; her stepson Charles Jr, his wife Margaret and his children Charles III and Jennifer; her stepdaughter Jan, her husband Jon; her sister Sandra and brother Larry Sr, his wife Maxine; her nieces and nephews Jennifer, Larry Jr, Mary, and Thomas, their families, along with many other cousins, extended family, and friends in the Savannah area.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Wiliam and Marie Mannion, her brother Billy, his wife Debbie, and her nephew Chris. And just a few days before her passing, her beloved husband Charlie died. Surely, they are reunited and enjoying their next adventure together.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Fox & Weeks on Hodgson Memorial Drive from 11:00 until 1:00, with a blessing and interment following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in the Garden of Faith.

Thank you for being the wonderful Ms. Brenda to me for so many years. I enjoy her retelling of Savannah's past with me each and every day. I cherish the time we had sharing an office with her for many years, and her wonderful guidance and warmth. She will be deeply missed.

Brenda and I went steady my senior year at Savannah High School. She was such a bundle of joy, sweetness and energy! Her mom and dad were so nice to me. My thoughts are with all her family.
