Jane Lawhon Humphries

Jane Lawhon Humphries

Jane Lawhon Humphries, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023.  Born July 15, 1931 in Timmonsville, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Herbert Lawhon and Louise Hooks Lawhon.  Mrs. Humphries was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and worked as an Underwriter for Corish & Company for over 30 years.  She was a member of the Insurance Women of Savannah. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Lawhon, her husband of 30 years, James Edward Humphries, and her friend and companion, Chuck Campbell.

Surviving are her six children, Caroline Gnann, Julie Vann (Scott), David Humphries (Joni), Susan Bresnihan, Mark Humphries (Dana), and Tim Humphries (Melissa), as well as her sister, Betty Dunn, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.

Remembrances may be made to Christ Child’s Nest, 412 Parkersburg Road, Savannah, GA 31406, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital @ www.stjude.org.
