Helen Earlene Harrison Rusden, 90, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Hospice Savannah after a short battle with lung cancer. Earlene was born November 13, 1931 in Savannah, GA to Herbert “Mike” and Lucy Harrison.
Mrs. Rusden thoroughly embraced her role as the matriarch of the family, giving her last orders just hours before passing.
Mrs. Rusden is survived by her children, Col (USAF Retired) Michael J. Rusden (Dana), and JoAnn Rusden of Savannah, GA. Four grandchildren, Clint J. Rusden, Christopher G. Rusden (Monica), M. Ryan Rusden, and Lacey T. Herrington (Matt), 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mrs. Rusden is preceded in death by her best friend and husband Lt. Col. (USAF Retired) Harry Joseph Rusden, son, Glen Harrison Rusden, and granddaughter, Jamie L. Turner.
Graveside Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2022 at Greenwich Cemetery, Savannah, GA.

Earlene was like a second mother to my siblings and me growing up on Plattsburgh Air Force Base. Her photo is exactly as I remember her beautiful face. May your precious memories of her soon replace the tears with smiles when you think of her. Rest In Peace, Earlene.
