Lora Gail Ganey

Lora Gail Ganey was born on April 14,1943 in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Heaven's Gate was opened for her on September 28,2022. She was a 1960 graduate of Lyons High School. After graduation she married Millard Ganey, Jr, the love of her life. Together they lived in Lyons, Vidalia, and later Savannah, Georgia.

Gail worked at WBBT, WVOP, and retired from WTOC television. Together, she and Millard, owned Foster's on Wilmington Island and also, with their son Mitch, they owned Dr. B.S Muther's Bar B Que.

She became a dedicated follower of Christ, and along with Millard, became servants of the Lord. She devoted her time to ministry, the homeless, and shelters for women and children.

She was a devoted wife to Millard, mother to her son, James Mitchel Ganey, and daughter Michele Ganey McMahon. She was grandmother to Kathleen "Kasey" McMahon Culp (Ammon) and Kaley Beatrice Ganey. Her favorite role of all was that of GaGa to her great granddaughters, Harper Jewel Culp and Penelope James Culp, all of Savannah.

Gail is preceded in death by: her husband, Millard Ganey Jr., her father Carl Lloyd James.Sr., her step father James Harvey(Jiggs) Anderson, and brother Carl Lloyd (C.L.) James Jr. She also leaves behind her mother Beatrice James Anderson Rollins of Vidalia, sisters Harvesteen (Teen) Chastain of Birmingham, AL., Janice Stephens(Ron) of Savannah. Also, her brother is Elvis Anderson (Linda) of Mt. Juliet, TN., Along with her sister in love Linda Keen James Blackburn of Punta Gorda, FL. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

A memorial visitation will be held at Fox & Weeks, Islands Chapel, 4605 Highway 80 East on Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. The family will have a Celebration of Life at Fannies on the Beach at Tybee Island after the service.
